Gust Lenglet, certified tax accountant, launched Harford Business Services Ltd. in Forest Hill, MD in 1973. At that time, the firm's focus was on accounting and tax preparation services for small businesses in the Harford County and Baltimore regions.
The company grew rapidly, due mainly to word of mouth and client referrals. Gust's clients liked the fact that he limited the number of clients he accepted so he could offer them personalized, one-on-one service – something he and his staff still do to this day.
The company, since renamed HBS Financial Group, now specializes in providing accurate, affordable online tax services, including 1040 online tax preparation and free electronic tax filing.

About the Founder
Before founding HBS, Gust Lenglet was a commercial loan officer with a major bank in Baltimore, MD. He studied accounting and taxation at the University of Baltimore, then started HBS as a part time venture. The business did so well, he left banking in 1985 to dedicate himself full time to HBS.
Gust is a member of the NATP (National Association of Tax Professionals) and the Maryland Society of Accountants, from which he receives his annual CPE accreditation.
While the focus of his business has now moved towards online tax preparation services, Gust still provides accounting and incorporation services to his existing clientèle in businesses such as financial planning, florists, restaurants, contractors, and more.
